A canine vacation awaits for dogs whose owners book a stay at TradeWinds Island Grand Beach Resort in St. Pete Beach, Florida. Beginning June 1, 2009, the relaxing retreat will offer 48 pet-friendly suites, each of which can accommodate two dogs weighing 80 pounds or less.
A puppy paradise, the Pet Play Zone is conveniently located adjacent to the Allamanda building, where the dog-friendly quarters are located. A place with fire hydrants and ever-flowing doggie drinking fountains for Fidos, the park’s double gated entrance allows your pawed pals roam unleashed while you unwind beneath the shade of an over-sized umbrella or in the seating area.
Dogs can also em”bark” on a canine constitutional with their human parents along a specially-constructed dog walking zone. A scenic route among the resort’s waterways and sandy dunes leads to a hammock where tailwaggers and tourists alike can stretch out and enjoy the view. Along the walk are conveniently located pet clean-up stations complete with baggies and waste disposals.
Patrons can find palette-pleasing food for their pooch among the many items listed on a special pet-only room service menu, ranging from specialty meats to packaged treats for dogs on the run. Guests should stop by the Doggie Accessory Center during their stay to pick out toys, a leash, dogs bowls and more for their fur baby for use on their stay.
