Don’t be surprised if you find yourself humming the hit “Me and You and a Dog Named Boo” when you walk through the doors of the Stonewall Jackson Hotel, a Staunton, Virginia landmark whose moniker mirrors that of the country crooner who recorded a remake of the dog-friendly ditty. It’s only fitting that the elegant edifice is connected with the canine-themed tune, as the hotel’s welcome mat has been rolled out for Fidos, who can settle in with their owners in a suite, thanks to Pets Package Plus.
Pets Package Plus: Your tail-wagging chum will receive a canvas tote bag emblazoned with the hotel’s monogram at check in, which contains:
• A map marked with what will surely be your pawed pal’s favorite sites–the city’s fire hydrants
• waste disposal bags
• a bag of dog treats
• a water bowl and bottled water
Giving Back: Your decision to make the Stonewall Jackson Hotel a temporary domain for you and your dog during your stay in Staunton helps homeless canines, as the hotel donates $10 to the Augusta County SPCA for every Pet Package Plus booked.
Price: The Pet Package Plus runs $60 for the first day, plus $25 for each additional day.
