Now in its 16th year, the 2009 Dog Days of Denton festival in Denton, Texas will, for the first time, include extended hours to offer some evening shade for you and your dog.

Events: The Dog Days of Denton includes:

• “Glamfur" photo shots of your furry friend
• paw readings by the Great Barkini
• dogs on parade
• agility, disc and freestyle demonstrations (scheduled for morning hours)
  
• canine contests
• live entertainment
• arts/crafts booths
• pet information and adoptions
• Dog Days of Denton Spokesdog Pageant
• Dog Singing Contest
• Pet Tricks Contest,
• “Heinz 57” dog show

Admission: free general admission

When: Friday, May 29, 2009, 5 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 30, 2009, 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Where: north end of Quakertown Park at 321 E. McKinney Street in downtown Denton, Texas
