Now in its 16th year, the Doggy Dash and Bark at the Park Festival in Sacramento is a full morning of dog-friendly fun, starting with Doggy Yoga and continuing through a 5K and 2K walk and a 5K run. The festival is expecting about 4,000 participants, both with and without dogs, all for the good cause of helping out the animals sheltered at the Sacramento SPCA.
Activities: Along with the run and walk, you’ll find plenty of other activities in the Bark at the Park Festival including:
- best kisser contest
- best wag contest
- best smile contest
- Disc Dogs of the Golden Gate demo
- Haute Dogs agility group demo
- Disc toss and fetch contest
- Ulti-mutt Mutt Contest
- live music
- pug races
- booths featuring local pet-friendly businesses
- Kid Zone with a rock climbing wall, airbrush tattoos and more
Admission: Admission is free; there’s a $5 per entrant fee for contests and races.
When: Saturday, May 30, 2009, 7:30am – 1pm. The Walk/Run starts at 9am.
