Paws for Your Heart Dog Walk, Leesburg, Virginia

A morning of family- and dog-friendly fun is planned at Paws For Your Heart Dog Walk in Leesburg, Virginia, an event benefiting the Loudoun County Animal Shelter and the Douglass Community Center Advisory Board for Children’s Programs.

Activities: The half-day festival will include:

  • a 5K dog walk
  • pet adoptions
  • vendors featuring items for dog lovers
  • children’s activities including a moon bounce
  • live music
  • face painting
  • family fitness vendors

5K Walk: Registration for the dog walk starts at 8am; the walk (for runners) starts at 10am with leisure walkers beginning at 10:15. Walkers handling a dog must be at least 12 years old. Dogs need to be current on their rabies vaccination and must be on a leash no longer than six feet long. There’s a $20 registration fee; you can register in advance or on site.

Saturday, June 6, 2009, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
