Now in its 10th year, Take Your Dog to Work Day encourages employees to bring their four-legged friends to work–turning casual Friday into canine Friday! The day, which was created by Pet Sitters International in 1999, is supported this year by Petfinder.com, the official adoption partner, and Dog Fancy magazine, the official publication partner.
Not only does the day encourage dog lovers to spend the day with their dog, but it focuses on dog adoption. Maybe those poochless co-workers of yours will be inspired to adopt a dog! In today’s economic times, it has never been more important as the number of dogs shelters take in continue to rise.
With that in mind, the Take Your Dog to Work site has some handy downloads. Visit http://www.takeyourdog.com/Get-Involved/ to download the Business Action Pack with a handy form your business can use, information and statistics on taking dogs to work, tips, and more. You also find a downloadable Shelter Action Pack, a Take Your Dog to Work poster, and a Take Your Dog to Work Day participation sign!
Contests: To celebrate the day, you’ll find four special contests this year:
