Teacup Dog Agility Trials, Fredericksburg, VA, June 13-14, 2009

June 12, 2009 by Paris and John
Filed under 06: June events, Dog Festivals

Dog agility trials usually put dogs like Australian shepherds, cattle dogs, and collies to the test…but the Teacup Dog Agility Trials is giving the little guys a chance to show their athletic side.

Watch Chihuahuas, Maltese, Shih Tzus and Yorkies and other dogs under 17 inches tall, at the TDAA trials. The event features smaller versions of the standard agility equipment.

“This ain’t your Border Collie’s agility trial!” says Laurie Williams, owner of Pup ‘N Iron and host of the event. “It’s not a matter of whether or not small dogs can manage the full-size agility equipment. Of course they can, they’re amazing.” Williams competed on last summer’s “Greatest American Dog” TV reality show with her eight-pound Maltese, Andrew. When: June 13-14, 2009; trials begin at 9am each day
