Greyhound Wine Tour & Friends, NY Finger Lakes Region, July 23-26, 2009

The Cayuga Wine Trail in New York’s Finger Lakes region hosts an annual Greyhound Weekend in July 23-26. This year’s theme is “greyhounds & friends” with all breeds of dogs (and their people) invited.

Partake in the captivating scenery of the Finger Lakes region with its magnificent views, waterfalls, hiking trails and gorgeous vineyards.
You will be welcomed at sixteen wineries along the trail for wine tastings, lawn concerts, great food, dog land and water demonstrations and seminars. Visit vendors and adoption agencies at the wineries throughout the weekend.

Part of the ticket proceeds will benefit adoption/rescue, SPCA’s, and lots of canine critters.

The Event: This year’s even incorporates nearly a dozen and a half wineries, plenty of live music, food, dog events, vendors, greyhound adoption. Events include:

Thursday: 6 – 9pm Welcome gathering at Montezuma Winery, wine tasting, cook-out and vendors. Fee for food & wine.

Friday: Noon- 5pm Long Point & King Ferry Winery (Friday only) & Six Mile Creek hosting winery event. Concert at Buttonwood Grove Winery starting at 7pm.

Saturday: 10am – 6pm Regular event at all west side wineries from Six Mile Creek to Montezuma. 6pm – Ice Cream Social and Seminars at Allan H. Treman Dog Park in Ithaca.

Sunday: 9am Walk to the Falls at Taughannock Falls State Park. Brunch & Sunday concert at Americana. (Concert 4-6pm). 10am – 5pm winery event continues at the wineries on the west side.

    Not enough info on where the tour starts and where/when we can see the dogs….

    Thanks…. wish you would extend it to Sunday as some people have businesses which are open on Sat and don’t have time off until Sunday.

    Wow I love dogs and I also love wine! But its already too late to join this event since it was done last year. Hope that there would be another event that will happen just like this.
