Once again “Oliver,” an English Cocker Spaniel, and “Lucy,” a Border Terrier, have been named honorary Co-chairs of the event planning committee for “October Tails,” the Saint Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center’s (SBHPCC) 2nd annual Halloween-themed dog walk fundraiser.
Dog Walk: The walk will be held in Verona Park and will feature special guest Maria Milito of Q104.3 FM.
Costume Contest: The centerpiece of “October Tails,” will be a Halloween costume contest for dogs, with cash prizes for:
- Most Original
- Funniest
- Most Heartwarming
- Best in Show
Other Activities: The event will also include children’s activities, food, ice cream, beverages, agility demonstrations, obedience games, a pet caricaturist and vendors.
The first 100 people to register will receive a free October Tails t-shirt and dog bandana.
Ask your friends, family and co-workers to sponsor you and your dog(s) with a minimum donation of $10. Prizes will be awarded to top fundraisers.
For a Good Cause: Proceeds will fund “Paws for Patients”, a new pet therapy program to benefit patients and families facing advanced illness.
