It’s called the World’s Largest Halloween Event for Pets and, with over 600 dogs in attendance, it must be! Now in its 9th year, this 12-block parade benefits area dog shelters and beach cleanups. Along with the parade (which includes awards for best costume, best float, and more), you’ll find pet vendors and lots of adoption opportunities.

Price: Viewing is free; to join in the parade with your dog, the registration is a donation of $15 in advance or $25 on the day of the parade.

When: Oct. 31, 2009, parade begins at 2:30pm

Where: Livingston Park (start and end of parade), 4900 E. Livingston Dr., Long Beach, California [map]
