The fastest furry athletes will soon descend on the Chesapeake Bay town of St. Michaels with family, fans and favorite chew toy. It can only mean the 11th annual St. Michaels Jack Russell Terrier Races are near, which in previous years has showcased hundreds of dogs competing in a half-day of races.
On Sunday, October 25, 2009, as part of the “Fall Into St. Michaels Festival” taking place October 24-26, Five Gables Inn & Spa’s Flying Fred’s pet boutique will once again sponsor the St. Michaels Jack Russell Terrier Races. Dog-Friendly Package: Throughout the year, Five Gables Inn & Spa has allocated first floor rooms for guests and dogs, allowing one dog per room at least a year old and weighing less than 75 pounds. Fall rates begin at $160 per night (Sunday –Thursday) and $260 on weekends (Friday-Saturday) now through November 16, 2009. A pet charge of $50 per stay includes a treat and toy from Flying Fred’s Pet Boutique and the use of a dog bed.
