What: Ninth Annual AKC/Eukanuba National Championship

When: Dec. 12-13, 2009

Where: Long Beach, California

Why: Nearly 4,000 dogs will be competing for over $225,000 in cash prizes as this mega-show (which will be broadcast on Animal Planet and the Discovery Channel Feb. 6, 2010 from 8-11pm). This two-day show is held in conjunction with the AKC Agility Invitational and the AKC Obedience Invitational, bringing the combined total of entries to almost 5,000 dogs.

The show is also hosting the Eukanuba World Challenge, which brings in dogs from 41 countries. Breeds such as the Thai Ridgeback and Cesky Rousek will be competing for the title of “World Challenge Champion” and $15,000 in prize money.
