There will be no need to ask “Who Dat” at the annual Barkus Parade in New Orleans; this year’s Grand Marshal is well-known animal lover Wendy Diamond and her dog, Lucky. Diamond, publisher of Animal Fair magazine and celebrity dog expert, will be escorting her Maltese rescue dog Lucky, one of the numerous canines and their companions that will make up this 15-block parade of the Krewe of Barkus, a licensed Mardi Gras Krewe.
When: Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, 1 p.m. (The parade has been moved up an hour due to the SuperBowl!)
Where: The parade begins at Orleans and North Rampart in New Orleans.
Cost: There is no charge to watch the parade. The cost to register your dog for the parade is $50 (with discounts for preregistering).
For a Paws Cause: Proceeds benefit animal welfare organizations.
