It’s almost time for the 17th Annual Beggin’ Strips Pet Parade and “tail”gating party in St. Louis!
Close to 8,000 participants take part in this event which has been called the biggest pet parade in the US and one of the largest pet parades in the world.
The parade marches–on two and four legs–through the streets of Soulard.
To Participate: Dogs are subject to the approval of Mardi Gras, Inc. and the St. Louis Department of Animal Control based on appropriateness, temperament and health.There’s a $10 minimum donation per pet; the proceeds go to the Open Door Sanctuary, a local no-kill shelter with locations in and around St. Louis.
When: Pet registration starts at 10 a.m. The parade begins at 1 p.m., Feb. 7, 2010
Where: The parade begins at 1 p.m. at Allen and Menard in Soulard.
Cost: The registration fee is $10.
For a Paws Cause: All of the event’s proceeds benefit the Open Door Animal Sanctuary, a local no-kill shelter for dogs and cats.
