If you and your dog are looking for some new real estate to explore, mark your calendar for the weekend of January 22-23, 2011. That’s when the San Antonio Botanic Garden hosts “Dog Days: a Winter Paws,” as the Garden invites well-mannered pooches to walk the trails, tour the greenhouses, and even visit the Garden’s Carriage House Bistro. The event is jointly sponsored by by the Animal Defense League, San Antonio Animal Care Services, the San Antonio Humane Society, and the San Antonio Botanical Society.
Combining formal and informal garden areas, the San Antonio Botanical Garden features changing exhibits of roses, herbs, and native plants across 38-acres located north of downtown. A centerpiece attraction is the Lucile Halsell Conservatory, a 90,000-square-foot architectural masterpiece designed by Emilio Ambasz, formerly Curator of Design at New York’s Museum of Modern Art.
When: Saturday-Sunday, January 22-23, 2011, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Where: San Antonio Botanical Garden, 555 Funston, San Antonio, Texas
Price: $5 donation plus the regular admission price of $8 for adults, $5 for children aged 3 – 13.
