The Morris Animal Foundation is once again inviting pet parents and their barking buddies to join in a constitutional to combat canine cancer. Dogs and their devoted human families will gather at Elk Grove Regional Park in Elk Grove, California on May 7, 2011 for the third annual K9 Cancer Walk, which benefits the Foundation’s efforts to fund research which will one day lead to the defeat of this disease, which will affect an estimated half of all dogs during their lifetimes.

Participants, who will each receive a 2011 K9 Cancer Walk T-shirt and a bandanna for Fido, can also learn more about their tail-wagging chums at the event’s Canine Health Fair, which begins at 8:30 am and includes a speakers’ program at 10:30 am.

Discounted registration, with tickets sold at $30 for adults and $15 for kids aged 10 through 17, is available through April 24, 2011. Walk-day registration is $35 and begins at 8:30 am. Walkers and their Rovers will start the stroll at 9:30 am.

Distance does not need to deter dog lovers from helping The Morris Animal Foundation to reach this year’s goal of $75,000. Fans of our four-legged friends can take part in the Sit & Stay program.

When: May 7, 2011

Where: Elk Grove Regional Park in Elk Grove, California.

ive contacted through the email twice now with no response to see if they would be interested in having our flyball club put on a demo at this event. Its a great event I live in Elk Grove and its at a beautiful park but getting a hold of someone in charge is not going very well.

Hi Sara! Did you try events@MorrisAnimalFoundation.org ? That’s the email that’s in their press release…I don’t know if they might have different people on different accounts but it might be worth a try. It sounds like a great event! Paris
