National Dress Up Your Pet Day, Jan. 14

January 14 marks the annual National Dress Up Your Dog Day, celebrated with dog clothes, costumes, or (as in our Tiki’s case, above) just sunglasses. (Tiki’s idea of dressing up is wearing a collar so a few moments in sunglasses was very patient on her part!)
If you dress up your dog in observance of National Dress Up Your Pet Day, remember to make sure your dog can breathe easily in his clothes/costume. Avoid anything constricting. If your dog is wearing a costume, make sure there are no small parts he can chew off, causing choking.
Do you dress your dog? We have coats for both Irie and Tiki for them to wear in cold weather but we haven’t had much luck with other clothing. Recognizing their role in the family business, our dogs do consent to pose for photos for Halloween:

However you and your dog celebrate National Dress Up Your Pet Day, have fun and make sure your dog is having fun, too!
