Fido-loving foodies can enjoy a taste of the good life and help a good cause as the Dining with the Dogs event raises funds for three California K-9 first-responder programs.
Honoring the heroic work accomplished by canine cops, attendees will be introduced to the crime-fighting Fidos and find out more about the Rovers’ responsibilities while enjoying a barbecue repast created by Stonefire Grill of Thousand Oaks. Guests will sip beverages including beer and wine from local wineries as they tap their feet to the beat of Caught Red-Handed.
He may not be a real policeman, but he played one on TV in the ’80s pop culture phenomenon CHiPs, and on April 2nd The Ventura County Star reports that actor Erik Estrada will be on hand to help raise money for the National Police Dog Foundation, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department’s K-9 Search and Rescue Team and the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department’s K-9 Units. Prize giveaways and a silent auction will also help to raise money that will aid in adding future law enforcement dogs to the programs and help to pay for their training and daily care.
Admission: $60 per person
