Fans of football and Fidos will huddle at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas on April 17, 2011 as the landmark stadium becomes the Dog Bowl for an annual event that is sure to score a touchdown with dog devotees.
Celebrating its fifth year, the Friends of Fair Park will unleash a day of puppy play complete with a canine agility course, a Dancing with the Dogs demonstration, toe-tapping and tail-wagging tunes, contests, giveaways, a misting tent for ‘hot dogs’ and a giant “dip and sip” dog pool for Fidos to lap up refreshment as they lap up the limelight on the turf. (Beverages, including beer ,will be available for doggie Dads and Moms.)
Pups will feel like MVPs with a nail-clipping and other pooch-pampering treatments before promenading with their pet parent among booths brimming with doggie duds, pet grooming samples and dog soaps. Doggy Daycares, boarders and other Rover-related vendors will also be available.
For animal lovers who are looking for a new four-legged family member, check out the ‘tail’gating action at the entrance to the Cotton Bowl, where adorable adoptables from rescue groups will be waiting to become a part of your home team.
Admission: Free (Parking is $10 and available at Gate 11 (Fitzhugh Ave. and Lagow St.), or ride DART’s Green Line to the Fair Park Station.)
