Stars are set to make a big splash as they scrub Spots for the sake of Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary & Hospital at the no-kill adoption shelter’s 24th annual Celebrity Dog Wash Festival.
While a variety of VIPs– including Don Brewer (drummer/singer for Grand Funk Railroad) and a line up of famous Floridians from radio and local news– will handle the hose as they rinse Rovers, dogs are the true stars of the shindig. Pups can strike a pose in their doggie duds in the Pet Costume contest and play dog games, while professional canines (and equines) showcase their talents in Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office demonstrations.
A bevy of bands will give dog devotees something to howl about as they provide the soundtrack for the tail-wagging event. Festival attendees can move their feet to the beat of Big Vince & The Phat Cats, The Wrong, Tom Can’t Stop, Ankhesenamen (featuring Gretchen Bonaduce, the former wife of Danny Bonaduce) and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Grand Funk Railroad.
The Hound Lounge offers a place where Fido-loving folks can play poker, while children who care for canines can have fun in a special kids pavilion. Shoppers can also browse among more than 50 booths brimming with merchandise.
Admission: Tickets $15 in advance, $20 on the day of the festival, will all proceeds benefiting Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary.
