‘Pooches in Pink’ Puppy Prom, Morristown, NJ, May 4, 2011

Canines can kick up their paws for a cause at the ‘Pooches in Pink’ Puppy Prom, which will take place at Morris Animal Inn, a luxury pet resort and spa in Morristown, New Jersey.

Held in support of breast cancer patients, reveling Rovers can party with their puppy peers as they raise awareness and donations for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure of North Jersey.

From tutus and tiaras to tiny tuxedos, pups will put on the dog for the event, which will feature:

• Flamingo Fling Dancing and Music
• Canine Fun Run for a Cure
• Prom Photos in the Pretty in Pink Portrait Studio
• Fuchsia Frisbee Fetch
• Pooch Punch and Pastries
• “Trip to the Shore” after party in the indoor Aqua Center

Pet parents can contribute to the cause in several ways. A portion of the prom’s $59 entrance fee will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure of New Jersey, and for an additional $25 attendees can sponsor a care package for a woman battling breast cancer. (Sponsors who sign up before the April 29th wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton will be in the running to win a prize pack worthy of royalty for their precious pup.) Attendees can also make a monetary donation or help to gather items for care packages, which include Biotene mouthwash and gum, packs of peppermint flavored gum, Eucerin Dry Skin Therapy Creme, QueasyPops or QueasyDrops, SalivaSure Lozenges, Healthy snacks lite pretzels or granola bars, gel cold masks (for face), fuzzy socks, ginger Tea, medical planners/journals, relaxing music, bandanas, small stuffed animals and fleece blankets.
