Pet lovers, mark your calendars! It’s almost time for the Charlotte Pet Expo, a mega event where you can shop, learn, play, and maybe find and adopt that perfect pet for your family.

The Park Expo Center in Charlotte will be the place to be on May 21, as the 2011 Pet Expo brings together tons of exhibitors showing off the latest and greatest pet products, dozens of rescue groups with animals for adoption, authors reading and signing books, and lots of pet enthusiasts and their pets.

You’ll have a chance to pick up valuable tips about pet care, grooming, pet behavior, traveling with your pet, and different pet breeds as well as learning about making a difference with pet volunteerism. Also on the schedule will be:

  • FAQ session with a veterinarian
  • prize giveaways
  • a pet fashion show and costume contest
  • discounted vaccinations, microchipping and heartworm and flea prevention
  • free nail trims
  • agility and obedience demonstrations
  • live entertainment
  • lots of lovable pets for adoption

Your pets are welcome to accompany you at the Expo; justĀ  have them on a fixed lead and bring along their vaccination papers. Admission and parking are free and all events are inside, in air-conditioned comfort.
