It’s official: In honor of Maxwell, the 1,000th senior dog rescued by Muttville Senior Dog Rescue, Mayor Ed Lee has proclaimed Tuesday, May 10, 2011 to be “Muttville Senior Dog Rescue Day” in San Francisco! The festive event will take place at City Hall Plaza and will include an informal parade, and remarks by Muttville supervisor Scott Wiener. All dogs and humans are welcome.
Maxwell was rescued from a Martinez shelter. At nine years old, he’s in perfect health, smiles all the time, and wants to love every person he meets. Now he needs Muttville to help him find his forever home. Read Maxwell’s story.

For a Paws Cause: Muttville is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving the lives of senior dogs. Muttville rescues senior dogs and finds them new homes or gives them hospice. Muttville also provides information about caring for older dogs and support for people who do.
