Mister Car Wash “Paws-a-thon”, July 2011

If your trusty dog transportation device (that would be your automobile!) could use a good clean up or an oil change and lube, check to see if there is a Mr. Car Wash location in your area. Why? The company just launched their second annual “Paws-a-thon” to raise donations for local animal shelter organizations in multiple US states.

During the campaign, Mr. Car Wash will ask their customers to purchase paper paws in $1, $5 or $10 amounts; purchased paws with the customers’ names will then be displayed on the car wash walls during the month of July, 2011. Last year, the campaign raised nearly $50,000 for animal organizations. Mr. Car Wash operates 66 car washes and 24 Express Lubes in seven different states.

Here in Central Texas, Mr. Car Wash is teaming up with the Humane Society of Williamson County (HSWC) at Mr. Car Wash locations in Cedar Park (111 South Bell Boulevard) and Round Rock (2720 South IH-35) to support the HSWC shelter located at 10930 East Crystal Falls Parkway in Leander. The HSWC shelter is a no-kill facility which last year adopted over 2,000 cats and dogs to forever homes. The Humane Society of Williamson County is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization which is funded solely by donations, grants, and fees.

“This is terrific exposure for our organization and animal adoption everywhere,” says Eran Fehily, HSWC Community Relations Manager. “We are thrilled to be a part of the 2011 Mister Car Wash Paws-a-thon and hope that the community comes out to get their cars cleaned, lubed, and help an animal or two in the process!”
