Atlanta Boxer Rescue, Inc., an organization which rescues and rehomes the lovable breed of stocky Spots, invites families and their Fidos to their fourth annual all breed-friendly festival, which will help the rescue site continue to care for dogs in dire straits and educate the public about proper pet parenting.
Celebrity Spotting
Fido-loving fans of Animal Planet can meet Victoria Stilwell. The queen of canine comportment, who dispenses doggie demeanor advice on the series It’s Me or the Dog, will be on hand to sign autographs and copies of her books.
Speakers and Demonstrations
Pet parents can find out about the latest in canine health care from Jenine Merritt, DVM, who will speak about dog cancer, heart disease and obesity, arthritis, senior medicine/generic care and dentistry.
The crowd will be wowed by the skilled Spots who will show off their dog obedience skills in a demo led by Amber Burckhalter, the founder of K-9 Coach, LLC and Bed & Bark, an Atlanta-based doggie daycare and boarding facility.
Contests
Have your Spot step into some doggie duds for a chance to strut in the canine costume competition.
Music
Tails will wag and toes will tap when The michelle Malone Banned, Jeff Robinson and the Barry Richman Band, JK and the Lost Boys, Kick the Robot, The Greg Burroughs Band, Sean Waterman and Course of Virtue take the stage.
Other Activities
Attendees can bid on an array of items in a silent auction, browse among vendor booths brimming with pet products, and there will be face painting and games for animal-loving little ones.
Tickets: $10 for adults, $5 for children under the age of 12, students and member of the military with proper ID, with proceeds benefiting Atlanta Boxer Rescue.
