Paws for the Cause, Peters Township, PA, August 27, 2011

On April 4, 2011 Patrolman Jim Kuzak was critically injured in the line of duty, but thanks to his friends– including those of the four-legged variety– the Clairton police officer does not have to travel the road to recovery alone.

Making a ‘Pit’ stop to show his support, Shorty Rossi and his canine companion Hercules from the Animal Planet series Pit Boss will make an appearance at Paws for the Cause, a day devoted to our barking buddies that will help raise green for a brave man in blue.

Presented by the Western Pennsylvania Police Benevolent Foundation, attendees and their tail-wagging chums will also enjoy police and service K9 demonstrations, a paws walk, speeches from dog experts, raffles, vendor booths brimming with pet products, live music, a barbecue buffet, and for those looking for a pal with paws, adorable adoptables from Hello Bully and Animal Friends.

Tickets: For $15 donation attendees receive not only entry into the event, but also a limited edition T-shirt and a fashionable bandanna for the family Fido. Proceeds from the event will go toward the Officer James Kuzak Benefit Fund.

When: August 27, 2011 from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
