Seems like our favorite furry friends are always finding new ways to help humans. Here’s a great example: the Dogs4Dystonia Dog Walk in Arlington, TX, on October 30, will support the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation in their mission to find a cure for dystonia. Dystonia is a neurological illness affecting over 300,000 persons of all ages in North America.
Despite its serious purpose, the event will be a lot of fun as walkers and their canines gather in Arlington’s River Legacy Park for the first event of the day, the Dog Costume Contest. with judging in several categories including:
- Best Owner/Dog Combo
- Most Creative Dog Costume
- Scariest Dog Costume
- Most Unique Dog Costume
- Funniest Dog Costume
- Best Overall Dog Costume
Following the contests, the walk will begin at approximately 10 a.m. Walkers with or without dogs are welcome to participate.
When: Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011; check-in begins at 9 a.m.
Where: Legacy Pavillion at River Legacy Park, 703 NW Green Oaks Boulevard, Arlington TX
Cost: Registration for the event is $30 per person and their dog for contests and walk. Walkers without dogs pay $25. Advance registration is recommended.
