Olde Towne Dogge Walke, Alexandria, VA, Sept. 25, 2011

Get thee (and thy dog) to Olde Towne Alexandria, Virginia  for the fifth annual Olde Towne Dogge Walke. Sponsored by D.C. area dog walking service Capitol Heel, the Walke has become a major fund raising event benefiting the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria. Last year, walkers in the event and their canines raised over $41,000 in pledges for the League.

The Walke’s 1-1/2 mile course will begin at famous Market Square then proceed through Alexandria’s historic district, through Founders Park with its views of the Potomac.

When: Sunday, September 25, 2011; 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.

Where: Market Square, King Street, Alexandria, VA

Cost: Advance registration is $25 (includes Tee-shirt and dog bandana or button); walk-up registration available for $40 til 8:45 a.m. day of the event.

For a Paws Cause: Proceeds will benefit the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria’s Vola Lawson Animal Shelter which finds homes for  1,300 pets annually.
