The Planet Dog Foundation announces its sixth annual Woofminster Amateur Dog Show and Cover Dog Challenge to be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011. The event at Camp Ketcha in Scarborough, Maine is an annual fundraiser for its canine service dog initiatives.
It will be an action-packed afternoon with competition in several categories including:
- Best Mixed Mutt
- Best Trick
- Cover Dog Challenge
- Best in Show (grand prize: a photo shoot and a chance to be featured on the Planet Dog catalog)
Other activities of the day will include:
- puppy petting booth
- puppy parade
- doggie limbo
- 100-paw dash
- scavenger hunt
- musical dog bed
- bake sale
- vendors
- agility demonstrations
- local rescue groups
The event is open to all well-behaved dogs (and humans!) and will be held rain or shine.
When: Saturday, October 1, 2011; 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

- Advance tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for dogs and children 7 to 18, children under 7 free
