Phoenix Pet Expo, Glendale, AZ, April 28, 2012

Dog devotees can enjoy a day devoted to all our furry, finned and fine feathered friends at the Phoenix Pet Expo. The free event offers fun for the entire family, including dogs on a fixed leash with proof of vaccinations.

Celebrity Spotting

Continuing his crusade to abolish BSL, Shorty Rossi (along with his canine companion Hercules) from the hit series Pit Boss will step on stage to share his passion for rescuing Pit Bulls, and fans can get an autograph or pose for a photo with the Animal Planet personality in a show of support for Shorty’s charities.

  • Root for the Rovers participating in Flyball, a relay race that’s been a favorite sport of Spots since the early 1970s.
  • Jesse the Jack Russell Terrier (a famous Fido from the big and small screen) will be a judge at Animals Got Talent!, a chance for dogs to display their skills in the Best Trick category.
  • The first Fido who crosses the finish line will be dubbed the ‘wiener’ of the Doxie Derby, presented by Dachshunds Only Rescue.
  • Dogs will don duds as they vie for first prize in the Pet Costume Contest.
  • Cheer for the skilled Spots who maneuver through weaving pole and jump through tires during an agility demonstration. For those interested in teaching their own tail-wagging chum a few tricks, there will be a question and answer session following the demonstration.
  • Diving into the hearts of dog devotees, retrieving Rovers will make a big splash in the Extreme Vertical, Big Air Waves and Speed Retrieve events during the DockDogs showcase.
  • Mull over pet-related merchandise at more than 225 exhibitor booths.

A happening with heart, the Phoenix Pet Expo will be hosting a mega-adoption event.
