Stand up guys in every sense of the word, some famous funnymen will start the new year by raising spirits as they raise funds for animals in need.

Benefiting Tony LaRussa’s Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF), comedy club favorite Mark Pitta (who has opened for such acts as Celine Dion, Rick Springfield and Olivia Newton-John) will host Comedy Night at Lesher Center for the Arts.

The jest fest will include rib-tickling routines from movie star Kevin Pollak (The Usual Suspects, Grumpier Old Men, A Few Good Men) and Canadian comedian/author John Wing, who has made TV audiences laugh on VH-1′s Stand Up Spotlight, MTV’s Half Hour Comedy Hour and Fox’s Comic Strip Live.

Proceeds will help ARF’s ongoing mission to rescue dogs and cats who are facing their fate at public shelters.

Tickets: $20, $40 and $60

When: January 4, 2013 at 7:30 p.m.
