Remembering Oprah Winfrey’s Dog, Sophie

Having experienced the love that a cocker spaniel has to give, the news that Oprah Winfrey recently chose to welcome a new puppy of the same breed into her family came as no surprise to dog devotees.
Although no longer with her, the happy memories of her years with her two fur babies Solomon and Sophie will live on in the talk show icon’s heart. Both cocker spaniels were fortunate to enjoy a long and fulfilled life before making their way to the rainbow bridge in 2008, with Sophie’s passing inspiring the television presenter to help better the lives of dogs who have not been so lucky. Dedicated in her honor, “Sophie’s Room” at PAWS (Pets are Worth Saving)Chicago– where the multi-Emmy award winner found her new four-legged friend– is a place for pets to meet their prospective parents.
