Would you like to earn a “Cat Applied Technology” (C.A.T.) degree? Here’s your chance! Cat College, sponsored by Eukanuba brand cat food, goes into session with a launch in the January issue of Cat Fancy magazine (already on newsstands), kicking off with a quiz to determine how knowledgeable readers are about their feline friends.

You’ll also find cat quizzes in the February and March issues of Cat Fancy. Readers can then go online and enroll in Cat College. Cat College is open to anyone with interest and enthusiasm for the C.A.T.-alogue course work on feline education.

“Cat College is a fun and comprehensive curriculum that really shows the impact cats have had on our society,” says Cat Fancy and CatChannel Editor Susan Logan. “People will have the opportunity to learn about the genetics and biology of cats, their sociological structures, complex psyches and forms of communication, as well as their influence on fine art – all in one place. Cats are worthy of our admiration and study.”

Win a Year’s Worth of Cat Food: The program’s valedictorian will win a year’s worth of Eukanuba cat food provided by PETCO and delivered by PETCO’s Bottomless Bowl program, a subscription service that allows pet parents to have pet food and supplies delivered automatically right to their door.

The Curriculum:
The Cat College curriculum includes courses on:

  • feline nutrition
  • biology
  • zoology
  • genetics
  • psychology
  • language
  • sociology
  • art history
  • physical education

Each course includes a video lecture from a cat expert, as well as reading material to prepare students for the final exam that they are required to take before receiving their C.A.T. degree.

How You’ll Graduate: To graduate, students must complete three core classes and three “cat-lectives” – and receive a passing score in each course. To receive top honors or become the valedictorian, a student must take all courses and receive the highest score.

Additionally, every graduating student who completes the course work will receive a diploma. Celebrity graduation speaker Tippi Hedren, animal rescue advocate, founder of the non-profit wild cat reserve, Shambala, and star of The Birds, will give the graduation address. All graduating participants will be able to download coupons for Eukanuba brand cat food. CatChannel Club Cat members will also earn 1,000 points for participating in this program.
