healthy-hound-final-cover300px The countdown is on for the publication of our new book, The Healthy Hound Cookbook! With a publication date of April 18, the new book soon will be available online at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and at bookstores across the country. Our new book features primarily treats with occasional meals as well. Although there are many excellent commercial foods on the market, we know that many of us enjoy cooking a meal for our four-legged best friend now and then. The book features 125 recipes using healthy, fresh ingredients from your kitchen. From Oatmeal Turkey Dog Biscuits to Peanut Butter and Banana Dog Ice Cream, each of these homemade dishes uses only real, whole ingredients like beef, chicken, potatoes, and carrots, so you’ll always know that your furry friend is getting a snack that’s flavorful as well as fresh. healthy-hound-sample We’re going to celebrate the upcoming publication with a special giveaway of our book…and a set of cookie cutters! We’ll soon be selling cookie cutters and sets especially for pet lovers. The winner of this giveaway will not only The Healthy Hound Cookbook but a set of five cutters!

I like making peanut butter doggy cookies. The dogs love them!

  • 49tam

Dang why didn’t that go on here? I just said Yes I made them for cats and dogs. The dogs loved the cheesy biscuits and chicken ones I made for them. The cats didn’t even touch the shrimp cookies though. I bet they missed the salt. It didn’t call for salt and so I didn’t add any. But do you add salt to your recipes for pets? And does this new book contain any recipes to make for cats? And will you ever design any cookie cutters for cat recipes? I got to get me some and don’t have a clue where to begin to look. You know you could hook me up with this one!ragdollmama@comcast.net

Aww…what cuties!!! We have four kitties ourselves :) I don’t add salt to my treats, and our dogs don’t seem to miss it. I don’t generally cook treats for our cats (I’ll make dehydrated chicken for them sometimes). We WILL be offering cat cookie cutters! We’re going to have four styles to start with…stay tuned! We’ll be launching the store on April 18!
