Television viewers know him for his roles in the long-running dramas Cold Case and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, but in 2015 Danny Pino took on a different role–that of a doting Dad to a rescue dog. Now the actor and his four-pawed pal Prado are helping other canines and cats who long to be cast in the part of a forever family’s furry family member.

Danny Pino and Prado are one of the parent/pet pairs in the The Tails of NYC RescueMen 2016 calendar. Created by the founders of Pillows for Paws and Grandpa Dave’s Creature Comforts, the calendar features 12 hunks with hearts of gold and their pals with paws, including dogs, cats and rabbits. While every picture tells a story, the calendar also includes the tale of each adopted animal’s happily ever after with their human father. (Prado’s story began in a shelter with his mother, brothers and sisters, all of whom received a new lease on life thanks to Rescue Dogs Rock NYC.)

This year animal lovers who purchase the calendar will receive a special treat– two vegan Peanut Butter Pit Bull chocolate bars from Rescue Chocolate!

Net proceeds from The Tails of NYC RescueMen 2016 calendar will help the ongoing efforts of Pillows for Paws. An all-volunteer non-profit organization, Pillows for Paws create beds and toys for adoptables in New York City shelters. Funds also aid in the purchase of grooming and medical supplies for shelter animals in need. A large portion of donations help to provide comfort and care for our four-legged friends at Animal Care Centers of NYC.
