Throughout the year, we often donate PawZaar bracelets to small rescues and shelters working on fundraisers. Recently we received a message from Diamond Dogs Rescue, a completely foster and volunteer based organization based in Madison, Wisconsin. The rescue strives to not only help animals in high kill shelters but to also help individuals who have reached a point in their life where they cannot care for their animal.
We’re honored to donate a FUREVER YOURS Bracelet for their upcoming fundraising basket (a donation, like all the PawZaar donations, made possible by YOU).
But we wanted to do something more–to shine a light on one of the dogs that Diamond Dogs Rescue is helping to find that forever home.
Meet Gemini, one of the many dogs available for adoption through Diamond Dogs. We asked Diamond Dogs Rescue to tell us a little more about Gemini so that you can get to know this little lady. Her foster parent says:
When Gemmy showed up here she was greasy, stinky, and nothing but skin and bones. She was so timid and weak and it was clear from her behavior that she had rarely (if ever) even been inside a house. She had the behavior of a dog that was starved and not treated very nicely by humans or the other dogs around her.
But, now, after just a few weeks here, she is a total dream. She’s up to a healthy weight, she’s no longer scared of people (even strangers!) and she LOVES to be touched and cuddled. This is a dog that appreciates love, big time. She also shows a lot more spunk. That tail gets wagging so hard her whole body wags.
She’s excellent on the leash, she sleeps through the night in her crate (she loves her crate,) she eats her whole meal at her feeding times, and she’s even up to speed on the housebreaking.
That skinny, scared little waif is gone, and now there’s a very happy dog who very much wants to be on your lap and, yes, she wants a treat, too.
This eight-year-old is going to make someone very happy when she finally finds her forever home.
Will you help Gemini by sharing her with your friends who may be looking for a cuddle bug to share their lives with? You’ll find share buttons at the top of this post–let’s help Gemini find a home of her own!
