Not only did the Washington Capitals win the coveted Stanley Cup in 2018, the professional ice hockey team also won the admiration of dog lovers as the players once again championed the cause of pet adoption with their annual Caps Canine Calendar!
For the fifth consecutive year the players have teamed up to offer an assist to the dogs and cats at Homeward Trails Animal Rescue, a non-profit which offers a new lease on life to companion animals in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC who were facing their fate in high-kill shelters, living on the streets or relinquished by their guardian.
Helping our four-legged friends in need look forward to a future with their own forever family, the 2019 Caps Canine calendar includes the following animal-loving athletes posed either with a furry member of their own home team or an adorable adoptable from Homeward Trails Animal Rescue, which receives all of the proceeds from the fundraising item:
- Nicklas Backstrom
- Madison Bowey
