May 21: The Week Ahead

Share with fellow dog lovers!

EBTweets

Whew…what a week it has been already! As I’ve mentioned over on Facebook, Tiki has been sick the last several days. She’s been on an IV with fluids to help bring down her high (104.8 degrees!) fever. She was allowed to come home last night with a catheter in her arm but went back this morning. I had a cone at the ready after she pulled off the bandage and the end of her catheter but, after some rebandaging, fortunately the cone was not called into service.

The good news is that she’s coming home today at 5! Her temperature has gone down, her blood tests look good, and she’s now on antibiotics. The vet isn’t sure what’s causing the fever so we’re still waiting on those results including testing for tick fevers.

Irie has been lost without Tiki here so I took her on an extra-long walk this morning and since then we’ve been busily preparing for this Sunday’s #EBTweets Twitter party! Along with All Things Dog Blog, we’ll be hosting this Event Barkers party to celebrate the start of summer, to give you a sneak peek at some upcoming events, and to celebrate our past sponsors. Oh, and there will be a LOT of giveaways! Be sure to get in on the pre-party giveaway fun with our RSVP giveaway, pre-Tweet giveaway, and Rafflecopter giveaway. We’ll have prizes for dog and cat families (and rescues!)

#EBTweets will take place on Sunday night from 8:30-10pm Eastern! If you don’t already have a Twitter account, please be sure to sign up for one (it’s quick, easy, and free!) Be sure to follow @DogTipper, @AllThingsDog, @EventBarkers, @CatTipper, and @5MinutesforFido so you can keep up with all the party action and be eligible to win pet prizes!

This afternoon has also been busy talking with folks from Pedigree about BlogPaws; they are sponsoring us at BlogPaws and we’ll be helping to share their message of adoption! We’re looking forward to writing about all the adoption efforts that Pedigree has done through the years and how everyone can help this year, too. Stay tuned for more on that!

Also, watch for some great giveaways and reviews of summer products for your dog coming up later this week.
