A mix of sun and shade can be a tough combo for photos. All shade…or all sun…is one thing but mix the two and you’ve got a photo challenge.
In the photo above of Tiki running to John, you’ll see that the photo works because John is highlighted by a sliver of sunshine coming from behind him through the trees, leaving him outlined by light.
By this photo, you’ll see that Tiki has run into the sunshine…
If John had been standing in the shade, these photos would have been less interesting and it would have been much more difficult to make him out among the mottled shadows.
Just a little pre-planning can really bring out the fun in your photos!
