We’ve been busy this week on a new project that’s a little bit different (in many ways) from our usual work. We recently received a call from the publisher of our Day Trips from Austin, Day Trips from San Antonio, and Day Trips from Houston guidebooks asking us to join in a revision of Texas Curiosities, a book by author John Kelso, the humor columnist for the Austin American-Statesman. This new 5th edition will take the book from traditional guidebook format to gift guide format–and that’s where we come in.
We’ve been traveling around shooting photos for the new edition with the help, of course, of Irie and Tiki! The book features many of the biggest, smallest, and just plain most unusual attractions in Texas, some of which we’ve visited previously like Stonehenge II…
…the biggest blue crab in Texas…
…and many more. Today we’ve been out photographing Willie Nelson’s golf club near Austin. We’ve got just a few more weeks to revise and photograph the remaining attractions so our fingers are crossed for good January weather!
