Autumn Dog Walks & Back to School Dog Collars

We’re starting to get the first HINTS that fall is around the corner. The leaves on our sycamore trees now rustle when the wind blows. The mornings are just a bit crisper. The temperatures are (slowly) starting to drop.

Autumn makes me want to extend our twice-daily dog walks. During the summer months, I’m guilty of cutting our walks short, especially the evening walk when the heat of the day still hangs in the air. But when the weather begins to change, it makes me want to return to our schedule of a 45-minute morning walk and a 30-minute evening walk every day. Irie and Tiki are especially glad to see those temperatures drop and see a return to our long walks.

After months of swimming (and rolling in beach sand) in their old collars, we’re glad to switch Irie and Tiki out to new collars. Paws for a Cause sent us some new, USA-made collars.

I love switching out the dogs’ collars with the start of autumn. There’s something about that Back to School atmosphere with new clothes and a new start that wants me want to make a new start as well.

For our Labor Day walk, they sported a Red, White, and Blue collar…

I love that these collars — and everything at Paws for a Cause — is made, start to finish, in the USA.

The collars, which come in five sizes, are machine washable (so, yes, Irie you can roll to your heart’s content!) The collars come in a variety of widths, depending on size. In these photos, Tiki is wearing a 3/4″ Medium collar, and Irie is sporting the 1″ Large collar.
