After this long, extended time together with your dog, are you starting to worry about how your dog will react when you have to leave him alone at home, whether for a return to work or just to run errands?
If so, you’re not alone–but there is a solution.

The Sure Petcare Animo is the lifelong activity and behavior monitor which learns and accurately interprets your dog’s behavior and activity patterns.
Learn if your dog’s activity level or sleep pattern is changing–and if he’s exhibiting behaviors like shaking, scratching or barking, which may be indicative of underlying problems. (Spotting signs of stress in your dog? Don’t miss “How to Make Your Dog Feel Secure and Safe During Anxious Times.”)
How Animo Works
Worn on a dog’s collar, Animo comes with three attachment bands in different sizes, making it suitable for small and large dogs.
Animo is lightweight, comfortable and waterproof, resting flat against the collar. It operates using a standard coin cell battery (which lasts about six months).

Once you attach Animo to your dog’s collar, its suite of algorithms begins to learn your dog’s unique patterns of movement.
It then accurately interpreting those movements and reports them to you via the smartphone app:

Animo connects to the Sure Petcare – Animo app via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). You can use the app to set and monitor daily activity goals for your dog then view activity and behavior reports by day, week, month or year.
The app also provides an hour-by-hour sleep quality report every night, which can be compared against previous nights to easily spot trends or changes in sleep patterns.
Key features of Animo and the Sure Petcare app include:
- Activity: Set and monitor daily activity goals and view activity reports by day, week, month and year.
- Sleep Quality: Hour-by-hour sleep quality report throughout the night; a poor night’s sleep can be an indication of stress, discomfort or illness.
- Calories: Track the calories your dog burns and compare this to a recommended daily target based on his breed, age and weight.
- Behavior tracking: Displays incidents of increased barking, scratching or shaking.
- Connect with family and friends: Animo syncs with the device of any member of your household who runs the app and owners can share access to the app with their friends and family.
Dr Nick Hill, founder and CEO of Sure Petcare said: “We can’t be with our pets 24/7, so we have created Animo to give dog owners a window into their dog’s day: not only to tell them what he or she gets up to when they’re not around, but more importantly to spot shifts in behavior and activity over time, which may signal changes in their pet’s health and wellbeing.”
Animo is sold on the Sure Petcare site, on Amazon (affiliate link) and through pet retailers; it currently sells for about $90.
