Scoring a home run in the hearts of dog lovers, the Colorado Rockies will step up to the plate to help companion animals in need when they take on the Atlanta Braves August 16th in a Bark at the Park game.
Pups and their pet parent will be sitting in the catbird seat when they hear the ump yell “Let’s play ball!” from their places in the designated dog zone, which consist of sections 155 – 160 and 401 – 403.
Pre-Game Activities with Lucy Pet Products
Not only will two-and four-legged sports fans get to watch players dive for home plate at Bark at the Park, they will also get to cheer for some really rad Rovers as they show off their surfing skills aboard the Gnarly Crankin’ Wave Maker!
Making a big splash with dog enthusiasts on its current 20-city “Wave Tour II,” Lucy Pet Products’ Gnarly Crankin’ Wave Maker — which helped to make Guinness World Record history during the 2017 Rose Parade as an attraction on the longest and heaviest float ever — is also a vehicle for change. The surfing tour is helping to shine a spotlight on the family-owned and operated business Lucy Pet Products, which features dog and cat care products with a cause. All of the net proceeds from sales aid the efforts of The Lucy Pet Foundation, a non-profit striving to end the euthanasia of over four million companion animals each year by working toward the day when there are Lucy Pet Foundation spay/neuter and pet adoption mobile clinics in every major US city.
Prior to the first pitch, pups and their pet parents can promenade around the warning track during the pre-game parade.
The barking buddies of baseball buffs will head home with two souvenirs…a Colorado Rockies Bark at the Park bandana and a Bark at the Park water bowl.
A day of play for a higher purpose, Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) will receive $1 from each ticket purchased. Tickets are $18 for each person, with one dog accompanying each paid attendee admitted in for free.
