An extended-stay hotel brand that often acts as a home away from home for travelers is helping dogs in need find their forever homes.
Partnering with TV personality/author Andy Cohen (along with his rescued Beagle/Foxhound, Wacha!) and North Shore Animal League America, Residence Inn by Marriott has unleashed a “Dog Days of Summer” pet adoption series at select Residence Inn locations across the country.
Andy Cohen, who makes tongues wag thanks to his late night Bravo talk show Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, was happy to make tails wag as the hotel franchise’s first pet adoption event, which took place at Residence Inn by Marriott New York Manhattan/Central Park. During the “Bark” Fest and puppy party the host of Fox’s Love Connection made fast friends with the pack of playful pooches from North Shore Animal League America who are looking for their special someone to love.
The lucky dogs of the two-legged variety who attended the New York event had won a social media scavenger hunt, with each digging up a coveted Residence Inn dog bone that had been hidden throughout The Big Apple. Along with the chance to meet an array of adorable adoptables, the winners also sat in on an exclusive Q&A with Andy Cohen and his dog Wacha, and learned how Residence Inn caters to all their guests, including our vacationing canine companions!
Two more “Dog Days of Summer” pet adoption events will take place in August. Later this month fans of Fidos are invited to stop by for “Yappy Hour” and to see some cuddly canines at Residence Inn Miami Beach Surfside in Miami, Florida and Residence Inn Washington Capitol Hill/Navy Yard in Washington, D.C.
