Top 50 Dog Names of 2011

We love lists…and we love dog names…so bring the two together in one and we just can’t resist going through it line by line. Banfield Pet Hospital has compiled the top pet names of 2011; as the world’s largest veterinary practice, they’ve got lots of data thanks to a patient database with over 780 hospitals across the country.

Like the top baby names of 2011 that Babycenter recently released, you’ll see some similarities between the baby list and the pet list – including Bella/Isabella being on the top 10 list for both pets and babies (Twilight?) Interestingly, Babycenter saw a decrease in parents using the name Charlie (hmm…could this be a reaction to Charlie Sheen?) Pet families, however, named their dogs Charlie MORE this year than in the past, taking the number 9 spot!
