Texas Bluebonnets (& a Giveaway!)

Today we’ve been out with Irie and Tiki searching for bluebonnet fields. This winter was a long one so bluebonnets are a bit late this spring. The drought continues in this area and fields are a little spotty, but we still found some great patches for our obligatory Texas spring portrait:

And we found another field for a portrait of the whole family:

Both Irie and Tiki seemed to love the fields filled with the state flower:

We all had a great time exploring the backroads of the Texas Hill Country…and now we want to give away an autographed copy of our DogTipper’s Texas with Dogs guidebook!

Gosh, after seeing your family pic of Irie & Tiki in the fields of Blue Bonnets, I’d say anywhere in Texas that I could find them is where I’d go with my dogs (and hubby). How beautiful!!! I’ve never been to Texas, going to have to add it to the list of places I want to go!

  • Christine Aiello

I don’t know much about Texas so I would love to explore anywhere in Texas!

I would love to hop in a car and travel to the panhandle of Texas and see the Cadillac cemetery, then travel down to Wichita Falls and see the Red River water falls. On to Dallas & Fort Worth after that to see great friends and enjoy amazing Tex Mex & Southern food. East Texas has the most amazing roses and beautiful bayou’s next to Louisiana. Traveling on down the coast to Houston, the Gulf of Mexico, the beautiful beaches of Padre Island, Corpus Christi and then on up to the State Capital of Austin and the wine vineyards north of Austin.
Whether you are North, East, South or West, Texas has something for everyone!!! Best State ever!!!

We like to travel all over our home state but here in East Texas is so beautiful, we can’t pass on visiting all the neat towns all over the Piney Woods! We appreciate DogTipper advice & suggestion for having a more enjoyable trip with our Coco & Honeypoo.

Not from Texas so I’d be happy with anywhere! Probably Austin since I’ve heard so many good things, or Katy as a good friend lives there.
