A little dog who suffered a bad start in life is now enjoying the start of a Hollywood-style happily ever after thanks in part to an animal lover on the A-list.

Nate, a 2 – 3-yr-old Terrier, was one of 22 dogs saved from a hoarding situation. The tiny tail-wagger was one of 11 who received a new lease on life at Luv Fur Mutts Animal Rescue, a volunteer-operated non-profit which cares for canines in need in the greater Cincinnati, Ohio area. Emaciated upon his arrival, even after receiving TLC his barrel chest and wobbly walk due to a deformed leg made potential adopters pass him by. For nine months Nate waited for forever pet parents to love, and with the arrival of Christmas the cuddly canine received the present of a bright future.

As people stared and pointed at Nate’s unique features during adoption events, little did anyone know that one of Hollywood’s most handsome leading men had fallen for the terrier’s sweet face. Watching Nate’s videos from their home in England, George and Amal Clooney knew that the one-of-a-kind canine would be the perfect fur baby for his parents, Nick and Nina Clooney, who had recently mourned the loss of their 10-year-old Terrier.

After George Clooney showed Nate’s YouTube video to his mother, who also promptly fell for the Terrier and asking his father how he felt about Nate’s gait (with the former AMC host saying “I guess it sounds like he gets around just as good as we do anymore.”), the high-profile pal to those with paws adopted the pooch for his parents.

Nate arrived at his new forever home on Christmas Eve. LuvFurMutts also received a gift from George and Amal Clooney, with the couple making a donation to LuvFurMutts which covered Nate’s previous surgeries and more.

Nate isn’t the only canine to land a starring role in the life of the Clooney clan in recent months. George Clooney and his wife Amal recently cast Millie, a four-year-old basset hound from San Gabriel Humane Society, as a member of their fur family after seeing her photo on Petfinder.com.
