Today has been a busy, busy day around here thanks to the installation of our Bravos XL High-Efficiency Washer and Dryer! As new #MaytagMoms, we’ll be writing about these high-efficiency machines in the coming months and all about how pet households can use them.
Today, though, meant out with the old and in with the new. By 9am, the delivery truck was here. (Actually the delivery truck was half a mile down the road; they offloaded the appliances onto a pickup rather than bringing the big truck down our unpaved road then across our low water crossing.
I can’t believe how excited I am about these new machines!
As I wrote about yesterday, our laundry room had originally been a back porch; after we got married, we closed off the porch, knowing that one day we’d need to open the back wall up again to change machines. Once the wall came down, we realized what a great view we had in that direction so we decided to add a large window in the laundry room! While John went to buy a new window, I repainted the laundry room floor (DogTipper blue, of course).
In spite of 100 degree heat, we got the painting done and the framing finished for the new window. We were able to close up the wall with cardboard just for tonight, to keep our raccoons or other critters. (The litterboxes that usually share the laundry room have temporarily been moved to the bathroom so the cats don’t have access to this room.) Tomorrow hopefully we’ll be able to complete the wall.
Irie and Tiki did well during the installation, staying indoors…but fearful Irie definitely does not like strangers in her home. She spent the rest of the day in a very serious nap!
