Ask Alecia: My Dog Is Pulling My Bicycle!

Share with fellow dog lovers!

Dear Alecia, I’m hoping you can give me some advice. I have a Walky-Dog that I hook to my bicycle so that I my dog while I ride. My little girl thinks she is a sled or draft dog and ends up pulling me until she gets tired. I’m using a collar now, but I’m concerned about the strain on her neck and throat. Is there a harness/halter you recommend? — Charlotte

Dear Charlotte,

It’s really fun to ride with your dog especially when they love it. The thing here is that your bicycle is not the safest place for you to teach your dog how not to pull. What I would recommend checking out is the Walk In Sync™ Harness and Leash System (www.dogwalkinsync.com). It’s a great way to teach your girl the rules of not pulling, then when she is backing off pressure naturally and easily you can take her riding again and she will back off pressure and stop pulling on your outing. Walk In Sync™ was designed by a dog trainer to never choke your dog or put strain on their neck. Check it out and let me know how it goes!

Paws Up,

Alecia
