A picture is worth a thousand words, so the old saying goes, and now moving pictures of adorable adoptables are moving potential pet parents to say that they want to choose the option of adoption when searching for a furry family member.
Launched on July 14th, a streaming animal shelter puppy cam is presently sharing the sweetness of 10 Chihuahua siblings with the world. Just a few weeks old and without a mother when they were brought to Baldwin Park Animal Shelter in Baldwin Park, California, the passel of pups were rescued by United Hope for Animals volunteer Ric Browde, who happened to be at the shelter snapping photos of Fidos in need of forever homes.
Wanting to boost his new barking buddies’ exposure, Browde set up a U-Stream video to show off the Spots. In the process he has also helped other homeless dogs at Baldwin Park, who are now being seen by more potential adopters as they drop by the shelter. (If you are looking for a canine or kitty companion from Baldwin Park Animal Shelter, check out the Department of Animal Care and Control County of Los Angeles website.)
While the Spots are already enjoying the spotlight with fans from around the globe checking in on their progress 24/7, the canine kiddies (Basil, Cinnamon, Clove, Ginger, Marjoram, Pepper, Rosemary, Sage and Sugar–aka “The Spice Girls and Boys”) will also have the chance to lap up the limelight when they– along with Baldwin Park Animal Shelter dogs Hannover and Lothario– star in a segment promoting pet adoption, which will air on E! on July 19th at 7 p.m. ET/PT, 4 p.m. on the West Coast for those with DirecTV.
